Weekly Photo Challenge: Symmetry

Two entries for this week’s Symmetry photo challenge. Above is a picture I took inside the Mezquita of Cordoba, where 856 columns of jasper, onyx, marble and granite support the double archways. Because of the very low light it is very difficult to photograph, but I highly recommend if you ever travel to Spain, this is the place to go! It was built as a mosque using pieces of old Roman buildings, and has since been converted into a Catholic church. Fascinating place.

But because it doesn’t photograph very well, I’ve also include this picture of a pretty flower in the Singapore Gardens. Another wonderful place – it is climate-controlled so the flowers bloom at the peak of a ‘permanent spring’. Singapore’s a great stopover on the way home 🙂
